Born and raised in Maracaibo, Venezuela, Liliana Delgado grew up surrounded by a rich cultural landscape where architecture, color, and resilience shaped her visual language from an early age. In 2007, she made Houston, Texas, her home, an experience that continues to inform her exploration of identity, migration, and belonging.

Creativity was a constant in her upbringing.  With a father in architecture and a mother in fashion and textiles, Delgado developed an early sensitivity to structure, detail, and material, elements that remain present in her work today.

Her formal artistic practice began in 2015 through a mixed media course, initially as a way to connect with her daughter. What started as a personal pursuit quickly evolved into a committed studio practice. She continues to refine her work through ongoing studies at the Glassell School of Art, where she explores both technical rigor and conceptual depth within a dynamic artistic community.

Delgado’s work centers on portraiture, often depicting young female figures as vessels of cultural memory.

Her series The Stories We Carry and Sacred Feminine explores themes of identity, heritage, and emotional inheritance. Through layered color, symbolism, and expressive mark-making, her paintings reflect narratives shaped by diaspora and lived experience.

Her work has been exhibited at the Dallas Latin American Cultural Center and the Kinder Morgan Building in Houston, expanding her presence within both cultural institutions and corporate collections.

Color plays a central role in her practice. Rather than decorative, her palettes are intentional, used to evoke memory, identity, and emotional resonance. Each piece becomes a space where heritage and personal history converge, inviting viewers to connect with both the subject and their own lived experiences.
